4 year pictures
This morning, I took the girls to have pictures made for their 4th year. A friend of mine, Brittany, is trying to get into photography and is doing free sessions to build her portfolio. You can check out her Facebook page HERE. She took pictures for an hour or so and believe it or not, my girls were really good and cooperated with what we wanted them to do. Being able to draw on the chalkboard was definitely their favorite part though.
I haven't seen Brittany's finished product yet, but here are 2 pictures I snapped with my phone before she got started....

Blood Drive for Jake
Tomorrow, The Blood Connection will be in Ware Shoals to do a blood drive in Jake's honor. If you're around this area and want to help out Jake in some way, this is the perfect opportunity.

Date night!!!
Well, kinda anyway. Several of my friend-girls and I are going to the midnight showing of Magic Mike in a few hours. All of us are beyond excited and can't wait to see all the hotties in this movie half naked. :)

Beach Day 8 - Coming home
To say I was less than thrilled to leave the beach is possibly the understatement of the year! The girls became total beach bums and loved being in the sand and playing. I hated to see our trip come to an end, but part of me was ready to get home and check on my house. It's just unfortunate that my "house" isn't situated at the beach!!!
I had intended to get pictures of everyone before we all piled up to come home, but that never happened :( Oh well, there's always next year!

Midweek Confessions
Linking up again with Elizabeth over at E, Myself and I for midweek confessions....
- If I had the opportunity to live at the beach, I'd pack up all my stuff in a heart beat and move!
- I'm a little too excited to be going to see a movie at midnight tomorrow. Even if Channing Tatum and Matthew McCougnahey (I can NEVER spell his name right!) are gonna be half naked!
- I swear Sienna and Kaitlyn swapped roles the second they turned 4. Squealing at the top of your lungs, kicking and throwing things are NOT the way to get what you want Miss Sienna. I had a massive headache before I even got home yesterday. I was done with both of the girls before 8 p.m.
- I love having my own money, but after spending 10 days with my girls, I sure do wish I was a SAHM again (even after days like yesterday)
- Kyle is trying to find another different job with benefits. I'm a nervous wreck about it. Again.
- It's supposed to be close to 105* on Friday. I'm a little bummed that we don't have access to a pool. I'm not a fan of being held hostage in my house because of the heat and/or cold.
- I won more tickets on WSSL on Monday. I'll be going to see Brad Paisley and The Band Perry in September :)
- I can't believe that June is almost over. The year is past halfway over. Unbelievable. Even harder to believe that my sweet boy should be turning 8 in two months. :(
- I really want to plan something big for his birthday, but I'm terrified that nobody really cares anymore and therefore, it'd be a big bust and nobody would show up. The fact that his birthday falls during Labor Day weekend has something to do with that too. I feel like people aren't going to fore-go their last hoorah before summer is over for my dead child.
- The blood drive for Jake is this weekend. I'm excited about it and somewhat ashamed that this will be the first time I've given blood since I was a senior in high school. 1998 for those who are wondering. Bad Ashley!!!!
- This is waaay too many confessions for one post!! LOL

Happy Birthday, Jennifer!
Today is my sister, Jennifer's, birthday. She's a year younger than Kelley, so that makes her 39!!! Ha! I love rubbing that number in her face.
I feel like I haven't seen her in forever - even though she only lives right up the road (45 minutes away actually), but with her traveling pretty much all summer long and me working during the week, there just isn't enough time left for us to get together.

Woody
Not only is Papa not here to celebrate another birthday today, it is also bittersweet because one year ago today, Woody joined Erik and Papa in heaven.
Finding Woody laying in the garage on the morning of 06.23.11 broke my heart. He was a wonderful dog and knowing that he was no longer suffering is the only thing that got me through that day.
I know that Erik is taking good care of him and that they are having a ball. Doesn't stop our hearts from hurting though.
We miss you every day Wood-dog!!

Happy Birthday, Papa!
I only wish I knew what the birthday celebrations were like in Heaven.
Today, Papa, is enjoying everything about a Heavenly birthday.
I can’t say I wish you were here to celebrate instead because I know your earthly life fails in comparison to the life you are living now. But it would be nice if the girls got the chance to know their "Papa". I hate that you had to go, but I'm so grateful you were there to welcome Erik with open arms. I know that that 2 of y'all are having fun and I hope you're staying out of trouble!!!
