Capture Your Grief - Day 15

Day 15 - Wave of Light

Today marks 35 long heart breaking months without Erik.  It is also Pregnancy, Infant and Baby Loss Day.  Although Erik was 5 years old, he was and still is my baby boy.

Tonight, I light a candle in his memory and in memory of all of the babies gone too soon.

I love you cowboy, to the moon and back!!

Capture Your Grief - Day 14

Day 14 - Community

I can definitely say that the people of my church have been a huge part of my life since we started there almost 9 years ago.  They came together for Kyle and I after we lost Erik and now I can't imagine being part of another church family.

Capture Your Grief - Day 12

Day 12 - Scents

This is a hard one for me.  There aren't any certain scents that stand out to me that are describable. Erik smelled like a little boy.  Dirty and sweaty.  It was terrible.  LOL  There were rare occasions that he'd let me rub baby lotion on him and I cherished those moments.

Capture Your Grief - Day 10

Day 10 - Symbol

There's absolutely no question how much these mean to me. I can't see one or hear the song without thinking about Erik.

Capture Your Grief - Day 9

Day 9 - Today is supposed to be a picture of a special place.  For Mama's who have buried a child, it seems that all places become special.  Or at least that's the way it is for me.  While Erik was alive, we tried to take him to a lot of different and fun places.  We didn't have a lot of money, but we made the best of what we did have.

The one place that sticks out to me the most would probably be Myrtle Beach, SC.  Erik only got to see the beach once and that breaks my heart because the beach is one of my favorite places.  Erik was just shy of 2 years old when we went and he HATED it!!!!  He enjoyed playing in the sand, but had to be washed off all the time because he didn't like the way the sand felt after a while.  He hated the ocean and wanted no part of it until the very last day.  The tide had washed away and a small pool was left in the sand.  He played and played and played in that hole.

Capture Your Grief - Day 8

Day 8 - Jewelry

I've got several pieces of jewelry that remind me of my sweet boy.  Some wonderful ladies got together right after Erik died and sent me this necklace.  I've only taken it off a handful of times

Another favorite necklace <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">

A charm bracelet I started with charms that remind me of Erik
